The Worlds Finest Cotton
Supima® Cotton
What Is Supima® Cotton Fabric? It’s a trademarked brand that is a high-quality type of cotton that is made from Gossypium barbadense and is American-grown. . It is considered to be the finest cotton available and is one of the softest and strongest forms of cotton in the world, and the methods of production and certification that are used for Supima cotton are different than those used for Pima cotton. When you buy Supima cotton, you’re getting a guarantee of the quality.
You can expect Supima cotton to be more expensive than other cottons or cotton blends, but there are some good reasons why this is.
It's Breathable- the longer fibers creates a finer weave and makes the fabric
lightweight and breathable.
It's Durable- Twice as strong as regular cotton and won't stretch out, it resists
tearing, pilling and fading even after dozens of washings. Its fibers also
absorb dye better, allowing for more vibrant colors that stay that way.
It’s Softer- Supima cotton is also much softer than regular cotton. This is again
due to the fine weave, which gives it a silkier and softer feel.
It’s More Environmentally Friendly- Finally, Supima cotton is sustainable by nature. The farmers that grow it use some of the most technologically advanced
agricultural processes available.
Since 1992, STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® has been a globally standardized,
independent mark of quality for raw, semi-finished and finished textile products from all stages of production and for all accessory materials used in the process. This global certification system assures manufacturers, sourcers, brands, retailers, and consumers around the world that certified products meet the strict limit values for harmful substances of STANDARD 100 and that these substances are not present in critical concentrations. OEKO-TEX® originally tested for about 100 chemicals like pesticides, carcinogenic colourants and heavy metals but today STANDARD 100 covers a wide array of several hundred harmful substances.
